Michael Lamar Freeman was born in Galveston Texas on October 31, 1972. He was the first born of Sherron Anne Watts and Henry Freeman. Later Sherron married Melvin Watts. They became a blended family of six children. Michael was the eldest of the siblings. Michael grew up in Bellville, Texas and attended school in Bellville, Texas.

As a teenager, he split his time between Bellville and Victoria, Texas. He spent time with his Aunt Linda Miller and his favorite cousins Diedrick and Gina Miller. Their house was his house. Victoria was his happy place, and he always found his way back to what he called home.

Michael was an employee at Caterpillar for several years. He enjoyed what he did and took pride in getting the job done. He recently joined the Home Depot family. He loved his new job and new co-workers. He stated, “Everyone is friendly, and they make me feel welcomed.”

He spent time listening to music, spending time with family and watching the Dallas Cowboys. He mainly enjoyed spending time with his love Diana Cano. Although he was quiet, he had a big presence and once he got to know you, he could talk for hours. Everyone loved being around him and he loved to make his family laugh with his quick-witted remarks. He was the life of the party. Even when he was not talking, he had a smirk on his face.

Mike grew up in church and in his youth attended Isiah Community AME Church, Bellville, Texas.

Michael recently discovered that he had a daughter named Leia Henson. He was proud to have her enter his life and to find out that he was a grandfather to her 2 children.

Michael is preceded in death by his stepfather Melvin Watts.

He leaves behind his loving mother Sherron A. Watts, His significant other Diana Cano, daughter, Leia Henson, siblings Stephanie R. Freeman, LaShaunda T. Watts, Joseph D. Watts, Rothiett V. Watts and Melvin T. Watts, grandchildren, a host of uncles, nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, extended family, and friends to cherish all his memories.

Funeral services for Evelyn M. Fricke, 88, of Cat Spring were held at 2 p.m.Friday, Nov. 28, 2003 at St. John Lutheran Church in Cat Spring with Rev. Robert Sorensen officiating. Interment was in the Kollatschny Cemetery in Cat Spring.

Pallbearers for the service were Randy Reichardt, Daryl Hartmann, Stephen Reichardt, Brian Reichardt, Larry Volkening and Ryan Reichardt.

The former Miss Evelyn Mercedes Strauss was born in Cat Spring to parents Herman and Olga Kollatschny Strauss. She was raised in Cat Spring and attended Cat Spring Public School. On July 22, 1933, she married Hilmer Fricke in Houston and was the owner of Evelyn's Beauty Shop in Cat Spring for 50 years. Mrs. Fricke was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Cat Spring.

Evelyn M. Fricke died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003 in Sealy.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Fay and Otto Reichardt of Cat Spring, sister Bernice Volkening of Cat Spring, grandchildren and spouses Randy Reichardt of Cat Spring, Stephen and Connie Reichardt of Sealy, Brian and Emma Reichardt of Sealy, Nancy and Daryl Hartmann of Rosenberg, great grandchildren Rebecca Forrester, Russell, Ryan, Brett, Tyler and Marcus Reichardt, Salina and Tami Hartmann, great great grandchildren, Rhys Reichardt and Jenna Forrester, sisters-in-law, Dorcie Strauss of Lake Jackson, Ruby Rogers and Hazel Jones both of Brenham.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Olga Strauss, husband Hilmer Fricke, brother Wilbert Dale Strauss, brothers-in-law Vertis Volkening and Vernon Fricke.

Memorial contributions can be made to the St. John Lutheran Church Building Fund, 480 Ross Road, Cat Spring, Texas 78933.

Funeral services were held under the direction of the Knesek Family Funeral Chapel of Sealy.

Carlos Wayne Froebel, 82, of Bernardo, Texas passed away on June 11, 2022.

Carlos was born on January 25, 1940, to Arthur and Clara (Leenen) Froebel in Bellville, Texas.

Carlos was raised in Cat Spring, Texas where he attended school in Sealy. He enlisted in the Army and was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood Missouri. After serving in the Army, he returned home and worked at GE in Houston, Texas. Soon after he met and married the love of his life, Virginia Ripper. Carlos and Virginia had one son, Brian in 1978. They moved back to Bernardo where they later built their forever home in 1984. Here they raised Brian and Carlos worked and retired from Smith Industries / Exterran.

Carlos and Virginia were members of St. Roch Catholic Church in Mentz, Texas. Carlos spent his retirement years traveling the areas watching all sporting events. He never met a stranger and became friends and followers of the athletes and many of the families he watched. He even had a baseball cap for all of his favorite teams, you never saw him without a cap. Carlos became a proud grandpa in 2011 and had 3 grandsons, Bowen, Asher and Quinn, they called him Pops. He couldn't wait until their time on the field and loved coming to watch them play little league. Carlos loved hunting, fishing and everything farm and ranch. He was the man that could fix anything! He was a handyman that could weld, carpenter and mechanic. There wasn't a tool he didn't have.

Carlos was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Clara Froebel; two brothers Clyde and Robert Froebel and his loving wife, Virginia.

He is survived by his son Brian and wife Deidra and grandsons Bowen, Asher and Quinn; brothers Cecil, Arthur Jr. and sister Betty Priesmeyer.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at 10:00 AM at St. Roch Catholic Church in Mentz, 1600 Frelsburg Rd, Alleyton, TX 78935. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM with a parish rosary at 9:30 AM. Fr. Bob Knippenberg will be officiating.

Burial will be in St Roch Catholic Cemetery in Mentz, Texas.

Pallbearers are Bryce Froebel, Keith Froebel, Todd Froebel, Michael Zweschper, Gary Zweschper and Jason Diaz. Honorary Pallbearers are Cecil Froebel, Arthur Froebel, Jr, RH Priesmeyer and Tony Rohan.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Nesbitt Memorial Library, 529 Washington St., Columbus, TX 78934 or Bernardo Volunteer Fire Dept., 2845 FM 949, Cat Spring, TX 78933.

Funeral services for Virginia Froebel, 58, of Bernardo Texas were held on Saturday, May 31, 2003 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Columbus, Texas with interment at St. Roch's Catholic Cemetery in Mentz, Texas with Fr. Wayne Flagg and Fr. Dan Kahlich officiating.

Pallbearers were nephew Michael Zweschper, nephew-in-law Kelly Markos, cousin Scott Ripper, nephews Bryce, Reed and Todd Froebel and close friends Ryan Beane,and Bob Tait.

She was a devoted mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She was born on March 12, 1945 to Albert and Nita Ripper in Sealy, Texas. She was a graduate of Columbus High School. On February 25, 1968, Virginia married Carlos Wayne Froebel. They have lived with their son Brian, in Bernardo over the last 20 years.

She loved children and currently was working at St. Paul's Lutheran Day Care and previously at St. Anthony's Catholic School, where she was known to all the children as "Miss Virginia".

She devoted her life to her family, she was a loving woman with a beautiful smile. She was a selfless person, who continually gave to her community and helped in any way that she could. Brian, and her three great nieces Kaley, Emily and Elizabeth, always brought a smile to her face and happiness in her voice. Gingie, you are deeply missed.

Virginia Froebel fondly known as "Gingie" died on May 26, 2003 due to injuries sustained in an auto accident.

Virginia is survived by her husband of 35 years Carlos Froebel, son Brian 25, mother Nita Ripper, sisters Loretta Zweschper and husband James, and Shirley Supak and husband Jerome, mother-in-law Clara Froebel, brothers-in-law Cecil Froebel and wife Carrie, Robert Froebel and wife Ruth, Clyde Froebel, Arthur Froebel, Jr. and wife Faye, and R.H. Priesmeyer and wife Betty, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father Albert Ripper.

Funeral services were under the direction of Henneke Funeral Home.

Graveside services for Elda Froelich, 89, of Tomball, Texas, were held Thursday, August 7, 2003 at 6 pm. with Rev. Mark Anderson officiating. Entombment was at the Haven of Rest Mausoleum in Sealy.

Born December 28, 1913, in New Ulm, Texas, Elda was the daughter of Otto and Emilie Buenger Hahn. She was baptized May 14, 1914 in Frelsberg and confirmed September 7, 1930 by St. John's Lutheran Church in Cat Spring. She was raised in Cat Spring and attended primary school in the Cleveland Community of Austin County. On September 24, 1937, the former Miss Hahn and Mr. Ernest W. Froelich were married with ceremony held in Bellville, Texas.

In early 1939, Elda and Ernest moved to the Tomball area, where she worked for and retired from the Tomball Independent School District. Elda Ernstine Emma Hahn Froelich died August 4, 2003 in Houston, Texas.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Esther F. and Carl H. Sims of Tomball, Ernestine Geeta and Jim Evans of Houston, three grandchildren Miss Renee Bhatt of Huntsville, Mrs. Charlotte Ann Sims Haugen and husband Ken of Houston, Mrs. Karen Lynn Sims Sheffield and husband Jim of Spring, and one great grandson Tyler Carl Haugen of Houston. Also surviving are one sister Mrs. Ollie Mae Mahnke of Columbus, one sister-in-law Mrs. Edna Froelich of Cuero, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents Otto and Emilie Hahn, husband Ernest W. Froelich, sister and brother-in-law Millie Mae and Wilburn Viereck and brother-in-law Alfred Froelich.

Services under the direction of Knesek Family Funeral Chapels, Sealy, Texas.

Alfred Richard Fry, Jr was born on December 31, 1948, in Houston, Texas to Alfred Richard and Mary Kathryn Clary Fry. He passed away on December 27, 2024, in Cypress, Texas just four days shy of his 76th birthday.

He lived in Spring Branch, Texas until the age of nine, when the family moved to Barker, Texas. He started school at Spring Branch Elementary and then began the last semester of third grade at Addicks Elementary. Later Addicks was consolidated with Katy ISD when he reached junior high school. He went on to graduate from Katy High School in May of 1967. He attended Wharton Junior College for one semester and then transferred to Blinn Junior College in Brenham, Texas. On the Blinn College bus, he met Carole Deane Matthews from Hempstead. She was later to become his sweetheart and then his wife. They were married on August 29, 1969, at the Methodist Church in Hempstead, Texas. They both transferred to Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. He graduated from there in December of 1971 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture Education. He began working as a young boy in the rice and soybean fields of his cousin Raymond Franz. Later he worked for a few years for Bennie Miller at Miller Implement Company in Waller, Texas. Then in 1976, he began a thirty-year career with ExxonMobil at the Katy Gas Plant as a mechanic. He also worked in Tomball, Raccoon Bend, and Hallettsville.

Richard and Carole began their married life in Huntsville. They later lived in Conroe, Katy, and finally moved to Bellville in 1983. They had two sons, Richard Matthew Fry born on January 2, 1974, and Cody Allen Fry born on February 3, 1975.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Mary Kathryn Fry. He is survived by his wife Carole, his son Matt Fry and wife Kindra,of College Station, Texas and son Cody Fry and his wife Dawn of Albany, Texas. He is also survived by his prides and joy, his five grandchildren, Faith, Riley, Grace, Ethan, and Cody Fry. He loved them dearly and tried to spend as much time with them as possible. He is also survived by two sisters Mary Ann Smith and husband Joe, of Big Sandy, Texas, and Melissa Kaspar and husband Jeff of Brady, Texas. He is also survived by one brother, William (Bill) Fry and wife Karen, of Burnet, Texas, and one brother-in-law, Roy Matthews and wife Cecelia, of Mission Viejo, California. He is also survived by five nephews and three nieces as well as eleven great nieces and nephews.

Richard has always been a farmer and rancher. He was also a board member and president of the Austin County Water System, a member of the board and president of Austin County Farm Bureau, attended the Farm Bureau Ag Lead-Farm Lead, served as treasurer of the Austin County Beef and Forage committee, served on the Austin county ARB board, was secretary of the ExxonMobil retiree club, and was a member of TSCRA and NCBA. He also served on the board of his church, the Trinity Apostolic Faith Church in Hempstead. After retirement, he helped Dr. Herbert Schumann with his cattle.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at Knesek Bros. Funeral Home in Bellville and the funeral will be held at Bellville Methodist Church on January 6 ,2025, at 10:00, with Rev. Ron Martin of Katy officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery with Rev. Johnny Arnall of Hempstead presiding. Pallbearers include Clayton Ignasiak, Jimmy Zepeda, Bradley Rinn, Lamar Groce, Seth Groce, Darrel Schrader, James Tays, and Stephen Thomas. Honorary pallbearers are his five grandchildren and Dr. Herbert Schumann and Vernon Peters.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the American Cancer Society or Cal Farley’s Boy Ranch, P.O. Box 1890, Amarillo, Texas 79105-9985, in memory of Richard Fry.

Lenora Ella Fulmer 82, of Highlands, Tx passed away Tuesday, May 30, 2000 in Baytown, Tx.

She was born March 9, 1918 in Kenney, Austin Co., Texas to Max Schaffner and Marie Haffelfinger. She was the youngest of ten children. On Feb. 16, 1939, she married Forrest "Rusty" Fulmer.

She was a resident of Highlands for over 60 years. She was a homemaker and a Past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is preceded in death by husband, Rusty Fulmer, son, Charley Max Fulmer, and grandson Keith Alan Cauthen. Lenora is survived by a daughter, and three grandson's.

Visitation will be from 5-9 pm June 1, 2000 at Sterling White Chapel in Highlands, Tx. Funeral services will be at 10 am Friday, June 2, 2000 at First Baptist Church of Highlands with Rev. Tim Edwards officiating.

Burial will follow at memory Gardens Cemetery in Baytown. Arrangements are under the direction of Sterling White Chapel, Highlands.
